Map O’ The Day #142 - RFID Iconography
Map O’ The Day #141 - Use Of On Demand Media
Today’s MOTD is a beautifully stunning, vectorized graphic depicting the finding, collecting and viewing of internet media. Adam Hutchinson created this map for the BBC Internet Blog.
“By paying attention to the activities that come before and after the watching or listening (like finding, personalising and sharing programmes), we learned a lot about what people find important. For example, a lot of people feel overwhelmed at the amount of choice there is. They skip through programmes or channels and don’t settle on one, as they feel they could be missing out something else.”
I really like the metaphor of golden nuggets, and the lens, which are two elements that we design into alot of our own maps.
Map O’ The Day #140 - A Month Of Spam
Today’s MOTD comes to us from Tim Graham, who authors Tim’s Data Blog. It is an infographic tracking a months worth of unfiltered email spam messages.
Map O’ The Day #139 - U2 & The Environment
Today’s MOTD comes to us from Next Generation Power & Energy EU, and is an infographic questioning the band, U2’s commitment to the environment on their 360 tour.
Map O’ The Day #138 - WWII Knives
Today’s MOTD is from Max Gadney’s Weapons Manual and shows the types of knives used in WWII and other knife related data.
Check out his infographic and WWII blog at www.maxgadney.com.
Map O’ The Day #137 - Star Wars Galaxy Map
Being a huge Star Wars fan, I had to post this Galaxy Map as the MOTD to make it a little easier for people to understand where the planets are aligned in the galaxy.
Map O’ The Day #136 - RFP Evaluation Process
Today’s MOTD is a great map describing the Request For Proposal Process.
Sunni Brown created this infographic for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). She illustrates the steps of the RFP process from left to right and top to bottom using a key of colors corresponding to discs under the various icons.

Map O’ The Day #135 - Shoe Lace Style
Today’s MOTD shows how to lace up your sneakers in various ways. Many ‘hipsters’ also use different colored laces to create cool patterns or to accessorize with their outfits.
Map O’ The Day #134 - 3 Month Crocheting
I don’t know the creator of this MOTD but I would like to find out, because it is a fantastic visualization. The subject matter is the amount of crocheted art pieces that Madame Ulani sold on a website called www.etsy.com, where artists can sell their wares safely and securely.
The map has two different xy graphs, both positioned differently making them flow into one product line showing where they were shipped to. The lengths of the chart represent time, in both how long it took to make the item and how long it took to sell the item once it was posted.
Map O’ The Day #133 - Twin City Rock Atlas
Today’s MOTD comes to us from the City Paper of Minneapolis and is a comic map of Rock and Roll landmarks in the area.
Look closely, there are some very cool images and easter eggs hidden inside the map.
