Map O’ The Day #153 - Heavy Metal Band Name Origins

metal

Todays MOTD, while a bit morbid, is very informational. Created by Doggie Horner for the blog, Comic Vs. Audience, this graphic combines great information design principles (not using boxes around the bullet lists and effective use of white space, to name two), while providing a wide breadth of data around what influenced heavy metal band names.

Map O’ The Day #150 - Online Relationships

asdasd

Today’s MOTD comes to us from David J Carr’s wordpress blog. He cleaned up a graphic (Top) that was covered by Mike Arauz (Bottom) at his blog.

I think David’s rendition of the graphic adds a lot of high value content without overwhelming or confusing the reader. Sometimes when you try to make a simple chart more specialized, you tend to lose more in translation than you gain, but not with this example.

Analysis and improvement of graphic content and re-rendering visual elements to add value are two things that Maga strives to do in all of its endeavors.
