Keeping our systems and infrastructure maintained and running is vital to modern life. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) conducts evaluations on different types of infrastructure to determine what needs to be updated, rebuilt, etc. They recently came out with this report on Washington, D.C.’s infrastructure.
This visual report is a high level summary of DC’s infrastructure – unfortunately we’re not doing so hot. With 99% of our roads at poor or mediocre quality and billions needed for water treatment, we are in dire need of upgraded infrastructure.
Scrolling below the visual on the original site, ASCE gives us more specific detail around DC’s infrastructure, citing the databases from which the statistics were gathered, and even farther down shares some encouraging success stories, proving that DC can do it right.
What do you think? Is the visual header to the report more compelling?
