Today’s MOTD comes to us from budding graphic artist Bashar Alaeddin, who designed it for an Interactive Design class at Vancouver Film School. He uses three rings of information to tell the story about the ancient archeological site, Petra, located in present day Jordan and recently designated as a wonder of the world.
The outermost ring shows the goods and materials and ideas that may have been traded by in and around the site. The middle ring shows the cultures that ‘controlled’ Petra and the customs that were passed to others, as well as some interesting facts. The innermost ring is a timeline that is consistent with the rest of the graphic.
I thought it was interesting that Bashar decided to use a counterclockwise timeline rotation to tell his story, although, i concede, it makes sense either way.
