Eddie Huang wife Shia Blanca is an artist by profession. The couple exchanged their wedding vows in 2023.

Edwyn Charles Hunag, professionally known as Eddie Huang, is a famous restaurant owner. He is the co-owner of BaoHaus restaurant based in the East Village of Lower Manhattan.

Huang was born in Washington D.C. on March 1, 1982. Apart from being a restaurateur, he is also an author, food personality, and producer.

The 41-year-old began his professional journey in 2006 as an attorney. He used to work for Chadbourne & Parke, a corporate law firm based in New York City. Then, in 2008, he left the job and started as a stand-up comedian.

ABC series Fresh Off the Boat originally released on February 4, 2015, incorporated the life story of the Huangs. The series was created by Nahnatchka Khan and produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

The sitcom follows a Taiwanese family moving from Washington D.C. to Orlando during the 1990s. The plot develops as they try to adjust to the socio-economical reality of living in the US for immigrants.

The restaurateur was the host of the Cooking Channel’s reality show Cheap Bites in 2011. He is among the famous stars involved in the food business including Parker Lipman and Stephanie Izard husband Gary Valentine.

Shia Blanca Is An Artist

Eddie Huang wife Shia Blanca is a self-employed vintage enthusiast. Blanca specializes in water painting.

Blanca is also a fashion lover apart from being an artist. In 2020, she was featured in the Boston Man Magazine.

Eddie Wed Shia In 2023

The couple got married on March 22, 2023, at Santa Barbara County Courthouse. The wedding was attended by close family and friends.

The courthouse is a Spanish Colonial-style building with spectacular architecture that provides a perfect venue to celebrate special occasions. 

They Got Engaged In 2022

The Cheap Bites host got engaged to his girlfriend, Shia Blanca in 2022. Huang shared the happy news via his Instagram on May 4.

The exact date of their meeting has been revealed in the media yet. The Embrace actor shared his first-ever picture with Shia via his Instagram on April 26, 2022. 

The bride wore a beautiful mini dress for the ceremony while the groom wore a dark blue suit matched by a white shirt and a pair of white shoes.

The two were seen going for a Jurrasic World theme ride at Universal Studio Hollywood along with other friends. The following month, Huang shared the news of the engagement.

Shia is active on Instagram under @shiablanca with a fan following of over 7.5K. She shares a lot about her personal and professional life on her social media profile.

Eddie Was Previously Engaged To Dena

Huang and Dena got engaged during their trip to China. Unfortunately, the engagement was called off after 18 months citing cultural differences.

As per Huang’s memoir, he was having a good time with his former girlfriend Dena when they were still together. The star chef had planned to propose to Dena once they visit their ancestral home in China.

However, everything fell apart for Huang’s World co-host when Dena’s dad, Mr. Fusco disapproved of the idea of the proposal because of his stereotypes about China. This hurt sentiments of Huang.

Eddie Huang Family Has Roots In China

Eddie Huang parents Jessica Huang and Louis Huang are immigrants from Taiwan.

The Huang couple raised their kids in Silver Spring, Maryland which is a suburb of Washington D.C. Later, the whole family moved to Orlando, Florida, started a business, and settled there.

The Huang couple relocated to the States and started a family there. They first settled in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. and moved to Orlando, Florida, in the 1990s.

His dad Louis owned and operated a successful group of stark and seafood restaurants. The most known among them are Atlantic bay Seafood & Grill and Cattleman’s Ranch Steakhouse.

Eddie Huang family is originally from China. Huang’s father and mother were both born in Taiwan but their ancestral homes were in Hunan and Shangdong provinces of Mainland China.

Emery And Evan Are Both Entrepreneurs 

Eddie Huang siblings include his brothers Emery Huang and Evan Huang. Eddie is the eldest among the three kins.

Emery and Evan both were involved in the restaurant business along with Eddie. The trios were the co-owners of the BaoHaus restaurant chain established in 2009.

The three bros initially started the restaurant in the Lower East Side of Lower Manhattan. In July 2011, the shop was relocated to the East Village offering an added menu.

BaoHaus was praised by the famous global magazine, TimeOut, for its cheap pricing and unique menu item. However, in October 2020, Huang announced the permanent shutdown of the shop.

Unlike, Eddie, Emery and Evan like to keep things quiet and opt to stay away from the limelight. However, both of them have great entrepreneurial skills and a knack for investment.

Emery And Evan Are Searching For New Possibilities With Batu Capital

Apart from running a restaurant business, the Emery and Evan duo has also made investments in real estate and tech startups.

They launched a multi-family investment office Batu Capital in 2018. The company focuses on finding companies invested in Cannabis, Blockchain, Crypto, and the big data industry.

The first-ever investment of the company was MJ Freeway, an enterprise software developer for the cannabis industry. MJ Freeway entered into a merger agreement with MTech and made it a part of a Nasdaq-listed holding company.

Emery said in an interview that the company puts focus on cannabis because of its huge addressable marketplace in terms of pain management, and medical and recreational uses.

The Huang duo put emphasis on a geographically diverse portfolio. Apart from the US and China, they are looking to expand their business to Shanghai and Beijing. Furthermore, the company explores markets in Southeast Asia.
