Patrick Denis Marleau (born September 15, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. He serves as the alternate captain for the Sharks, and was previously team captain. Marleau is the all-time Sharks leader in goals, even strength goals, power play goals, points, shots, and games played having spent his entire NHL career with the Sharks since being drafted second overall by the franchise in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He played his 1000th NHL game already on January 17, 2011 against the Phoenix Coyotes. He won gold medals with Team Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
