Evaristo Salas is currently in Airway Heights Corrections Center for the murder of Jose Arreola.

There is a new ray of hope for family and supporters of Evaristo that he would get a fair trial in 2021.

There are many unanswered questions and careless investigations in this case. It is said that there was much evidence in support of Evaristo’s innocence that was not presented in the court.

Evaristo’s supporters and dozens of other people who believe in him have been protesting outside of Yakima County Courthouse.

Evaristo Salas Case Story: Who is He?

Salas is a convicted criminal. He was sentenced six months after the incident occurred after two pieces of evidence claiming him as the murderer.

The police didn’t find any physical evidence at the crime scene. But, they have two witnesses, one was Jose’s girlfriend, and the other was the police’s informant whose name has not been disclosed yet.

Jose’s girlfriend didn’t recognize Evaristo at first, but later on, when she was being hypnotized, she identified him as the murderer of Jose. The second witness, the police’s informant, said that he heard Evaristo talking about how he would kill Jose.

Although Evaristo has repeatedly been telling and stood on his words from the beginning of this case that he is not guilty, he has not got his justice yet. His family members are prominent supporters and believe in his innocence. His two sisters have been continuously fighting for him.

Evaristo was contacted by an investigator for the Starz television network documentary “Wrong Man” team and made a documentary for him where they interviewed the informant. The truth was unfolded when the informant said that it was all a setup.

The informant was trained to give a statement about Evaristo by Sgt. River. Although this huge evidence was presented, there have been no actions taken by anyone. Currently, Evaristo Salas is serving his 32 years eight months-long sentence in which nearly 24 years has been completed.
